Chapter 38: Eating Melon
Wen Lan Sheng’s hysterical curses came through the phone. Rong Xiu could almost see his distorted, ferocious face at this moment. With a satisfied curve on his lips, he hung up the phone.
“Thank you,” Fan Xia said softly.
After the ear-splitting screams of Wen Lan Sheng, Fan Xia’s already gentle voice sounded even more heavenly.
Rong Xiu placed the phone back into her hand. His clean, neatly trimmed fingertips touched her palm. It was so soft, so warm, as if holding a piece of high-quality warm jade. Even his heart felt warm.
A blush spread across Rong Xiu’s fair nape.
Yi Zhi Mei was running wildly in the yard. When it got tired, it came back, nimbly jumped onto the sofa, and flopped softly onto Fan Xia’s lap. It lay on its back, exposing its pink round belly, begging for attention.
“Did you miss me?” Fan Xia rubbed its little belly, a gentle smile on her pale lips, calm and beautiful.
Yi Zhi Mei barked softly and excitedly nuzzled against Fan Xia’s legs. The white satin wedding dress was wrinkled by the puppy’s movements. After running around the yard’s lawn all day, its muddy paws left several prints on the pristine, almost sacred wedding dress.
“Yi Zhi Mei, stop it. You’re dirtying the dress,” Rong Xiu pinched the back of Yi Zhi Mei’s neck, and the lively puppy immediately behaved.
“It’s alright,” Fan Xia looked at the paw prints on her dress without a hint of regret for the ruined wedding gown. She picked up the pitiful Yi Zhi Mei, reached behind her head with her long, fair arms, and pulled out the U-shaped hairpin securing her bun.
Her thick black hair cascaded down like a waterfall. The strands, backlit by the warm, thick afternoon sunlight, outlined an intoxicating golden hue before Rong Xiu’s eyes.
Rong Xiu’s gaze was enchanted.
Fan Xia was a gentle yet firm light in his life, illuminating him for many years.
When he first learned that Fan Xia was about to hold a wedding with Wen Lan Sheng, his world seemed to darken in an instant.
On countless nights, he had fantasized about how elegant and beautiful Fan Xia would look in a wedding dress. But when he actually appeared at the wedding and saw Fan Xia standing in the center of the crowd in her wedding dress, attracting all the light, he realized how inadequate his imagination had been.
But now, this dazzling light was right by his side.
Beneath his calm exterior, Rong Xiu’s fingertips trembled with excitement.
“But the dress is still dirty, and it’s not convenient to wear. I’ll have Zhuang Nian buy you a set from the store. Would you like to change out of the wedding dress?” Fan Xia looked at the wedding dress that Yi Zhi Mei had dirtied and nodded, “Okay.”
Rong Xiu smiled, a hidden agenda in his eyes.
He called Zhuang Nian. Because Rong Xiu and Fan Xia had left the wedding suddenly, Zhuang Nian felt awkward staying there. He didn’t wait for the banquet to start and left.
His salary wasn’t low anyway, so he wouldn’t force himself to stay for the meal just to save on the gift money. He’d rather spend that time at home with his wife-master and children.
But just as he got out of the car, he received a call from Rong Xiu.
“Buy a set of clothes for Director Fan… Alright, I’ll deliver it to the company later.” Zhuang Nian was naive enough to think they had left the wedding due to urgent company business.
“No need to send it to the company,” Rong Xiu interrupted him. “Deliver it directly to my home.”
“Oh… Huh?” Zhuang Nian finally sensed something was off. Weren’t they working? How did work end up at the CEO’s home?
“…Then what size should I buy for Director Fan?”
“Size M,” Rong Xiu replied almost instantly. Fan Xia had a tall, slender figure, neither too thin nor weak, able to easily carry off any style. In college, someone had even recommended her to be a model abroad, but she had declined.
“Alright, I’ll be there right away, CEO.” Zhuang Nian faintly sensed a juicy piece of gossip. He rushed into the nearest mall, chose a set of clothes from the women’s section on the third floor without even asking the price, and hurried towards Cloud Water Bay.
Ding dong—
AD 9Zhuang Nian rang the doorbell, and Fan Xia was about to open the door.
Rong Xiu wiped the water off his hands and said, “I’ll get it.”
When he opened the door, Zhuang Nian was stunned for a moment. He saw Rong Xiu in a clean, pressed shirt with an apron tied around his waist. The usually aloof man suddenly seemed more down-to-earth today, which shocked him greatly.
But what shocked him even more was Fan Xia in her wedding dress, happily playing with a puppy in the living room.
Fan Xia, at ease, and Rong Xiu, cooking with a homely air—Zhuang Nian could hardly believe his eyes.
“Thank you, I’ll transfer the money to you later,” Rong Xiu said, taking the paper bag from his hand.
“Uh, no need, no need,” Zhuang Nian stammered. Good heavens, getting such juicy gossip for just a set of clothes was too worth it.
How had he never noticed before that there was something going on between Director Fan and the CEO?
Director Fan was truly impressive, able to win over the CEO, that ice-cold flower on a high mountain. It seemed Mountain Sea Group would have another decision-maker from now on.
But Zhuang Nian still felt a bit of admiration for the CEO. Although the CEO had a high status, Director Fan was a genuinely high-quality woman.
In a female-dominated society, women generally didn’t pay attention to appearance and fitness. Even female celebrities neglected to maintain their figures, becoming seriously overweight, while male celebrities were criticized for being too thin.
With Fan Xia’s goddess-level looks, if she had debuted in the entertainment industry, fans would have gone crazy.
Even if she didn’t debut, if she chose to be a kept man, there would probably be wealthy women lining up.
Born with such a face, and yet still talented. After coming to Mountain Sea Group, she quickly became familiar with other senior executives, showing her social skills. With her talent, looks, and gentle personality, how many young men in the company secretly admired this highly educated woman?
Unfortunately, she got married, leaving many young men heartbroken, cursing Wen Lan Sheng behind his back.
Although she was married… to be able to lure Director Fan away from the wedding venue, standing up the groom and ruining his wedding, the CEO’s methods were truly the highest.
The groom must be furious by now. On his wedding day, the mistress came to show her dominance, rendering his position as the official husband meaningless. The mistress was so arrogant, directly riding over him, luring away the bride.
Having followed Rong Xiu for so many years, Zhuang Nian knew his personality well.
Once Rong Xiu set his mind on someone or something, he would never let go.
Ah! It seemed Wen Lan Sheng’s days ahead wouldn’t be easy.
“What, want to stay for dinner?” Rong Xiu leaned against the doorframe, his narrow eyes cold.
Fan Xia also looked up, her smile gentle and polite: “Secretary Zhuang, would you like to join us for dinner?”
“No, no, no, my child is waiting at home, I need to get back quickly. Enjoy your meal,” Zhuang Nian was almost scared to death by Rong Xiu. He didn’t have the courage to be the third wheel and quickly ran off.
If you’re like me…
Too tired of reading stories where the female lead is often foolish, weak, feeble both physically and mentally, usually in a subservient and oppressed role in society such as a maid, secretary, concubine… or to put it bluntly, typically the one who has to serve and please the male lead, always needing protection and rescue from male leads, while the male lead is often described as talented, strikingly handsome, powerful,…
Then please continue reading.
Hi there, girls!
I’m Yuushi L.
Every day, movies and comics continuously reinforce the notion that women are weak, that they can only handle trivial matters in the background, that women are petty-minded and constantly jealous, mocking, and laughing at other women, while men are strong, wealthy, and solely focused on conquering the world, with countless mindless women ready to fall into their arms.
Believe me, once you read Female-dominant (FEDO) novels, your mindset will change significantly.
I am deeply inspired by strong, independent, and rational women who have the power to take control of their lives, and I am fascinated by the way society’s gender roles are reversed in this genre compared to real life.
So I have created this web with the noble purpose of promoting the “Female-dominant (FEDO)” genre of novels.
In my country, there was a rare renowned female poet in ancient times who wrote the following about the fate of women in that era:
“Damn this life of sharing a husband,
One wrapped in warmth, the other left cold.
I’d rather have stayed single from the start,
Than to endure a life so torn apart.”
Perhaps my penchant for reading female-dominant stories is partly a way of rebelling against the realities of life.
On my site, there will be stories that are not only female-dominant novels, as long as they align with my taste, featuring strong female protagonists and fresh, captivating storylines. Usually, they will be modern or fantasy novels.
I rarely read ancient novels that aren’t female-dominant because they often contain details that easily trigger me. These include the portrayal of men having multiple wives and concubines, which was considered utterly normal in ancient society, and the frequent disdain towards women.
I cannot change the world, as the societal structure that discriminates against women and elevates men has existed for thousands of years. Changing it to truly give women an equal role in society is not something that can happen overnight. If you want gender equality now, it’s laughable. It will never happen when over 90% of national and business leaders are men.
But I can start by changing the mindset of women, sisters, and young girls. Don’t just read dull slogans urging women to be strong and independent; it’s hard to imagine. Read Female-dominant (FEDO) novels to see clearly what true female empowerment looks like.
I believe there will be more and more independent and strong women who prioritize their careers and personal stability over seeking a man to rely on.
In the future, there will be more successful female entrepreneurs, politicians, and thought leaders.
As for me, I will start by making this website grow stronger day by day.
I especially like the concept of “the male lead falls in love first, the female lead is the cold-hearted and rational one, and the male lead suffers because the female lead doesn’t reciprocate his feelings.”
Therefore, you’ll see that most of the novels on my website will belong to this trope. Of course, there will be exceptions.
In the future, I also plan to write my own novels following this concept, where the female lead in my stories will never be the weaker party. I hope I can do it soon.
The novels I highly recommend will be listed under the category:
There will be exceptionally brilliant stories, but there will also be mediocre ones. As the Female-dominant (FEDO) genre has fewer authors and readers, the number of high-quality novels is limited.
Therefore, I want to promote this genre to reach a wider audience, which will encourage more talented authors to choose to write in this style, leading to the birth of more outstanding Female-dominant (FEDO) novels.
The Chinese versions of the novels I use for translation are all sourced from various websites on the internet. You know, I don’t have much budget to purchase so many novels.
Therefore, if your financial situation allows, please support the authors by purchasing the original works. You can find the original works using the Chinese titles of the novels.

WARNING:
In some novels, there are certain unhealthy ideologies and illegal actions held by the main characters (for example, treating human lives as worthless, or casually deciding to kill someone, forcing others to do things they don’t want to do, arbitrarily imprisoning others, plotting to harm others, using violence to retaliate against violence,…).
This may be because the authors are still young and inexperienced, unaware that what they’re writing goes beyond moral standards and can negatively influence young readers.
It’s important that readers under 18 years old need to recognize these are illegal actions, not permitted to be carried out in real life, always keep a clear head while reading, treat these works only as entertainment, and don’t let yourself be influenced by those plot points.
