Chapter 27: The Wardrobe
Almost instantly, Rong Xiu’s reaction was faster than hers, suddenly sitting up from on top of her.
The room door opened and closed.
“Xia Xia?” Wen Lan Sheng’s footsteps felt like they were treading on her heart, getting closer and closer, like a sharp blade suspended high, not knowing when it would plunge down.
Fortunately the hotel room was large, with some obstruction from the entrance hallway to the living room, so Wen Lan Sheng could not directly see them sitting on the sofa with unusual expressions.
Fan Xia instinctively smoothed her crumpled clothes to avoid Wen Lan Sheng noticing, and turned her head to look at Rong Xiu sitting beside her, then froze.
Where was he?
Fan Xia’s eyes trembled. The person who had just been sitting next to her, where had he suddenly disappeared to?
But before she could ponder further, Wen Lan Sheng was already walking towards her.
“Xia Xia.” Wen Lan Sheng held a peeled coconut in his hands, sitting down beside her: “I bought you a coconut, want to try it?”
“No need, I don’t want to eat right now.” Fan Xia was confused at the moment, her mind full of the vanished Rong Xiu. This room only had one entrance for coming and going, he couldn’t have left through the main door, so he must be hiding in some room…
Her mind suddenly became chaotic. She and Rong Xiu had only kissed, it’s not like they were caught in bed. When Wen Lan Sheng returned, as long as they moved apart, nothing would be noticeable. But now Rong Xiu was hidden somewhere unknown, if discovered by Wen Lan Sheng, it would truly be unexplainable. Even if they hadn’t slept together, they would still be branded as an adulterous couple.
She had thought Rong Xiu would consider this, but who knew whether due to guilt or panic, he actually made the worst choice in his haste.
“Alright, we can eat it later then.” Wen Lan Sheng’s tone was gentle, as if he knew nothing.
He lifted a strand of Fan Xia’s damp long hair, his tone carrying a hint of reproach, coquettishly saying: “Look at you, why didn’t you dry your hair again? It’s so messy.”
Fan Xia’s gaze faltered for a moment: “I was only halfway through drying it, of course it’s messy. Lan Sheng, can you help me dry it?”
“Sure.” Wen Lan Sheng’s eyes held a smile as he picked up the hairdryer, about to start drying her hair, when suddenly Yi Zhi emerged from the pile of cushions on the sofa.
Wen Lan Sheng put down the hairdryer, his eyes on her: “Isn’t this Rong Xiu’s dog? Why is it here?”
Fan Xia’s hand hidden behind her back clenched: “Uh, Rong Xiu was here earlier, he had to go out for something urgently, so he entrusted Yi Zhi to my care.”
“…I see.” Wen Lan Sheng pursed his lips, gently resting his head on her shoulder: “Xia Xia, you know I don’t like these shedding little animals, and it’s on the sofa too, it’ll be troublesome to clean up.”
“Then I’ll take it down.” Fan Xia picked up Yi Zhi and placed it on the floor mat.
Wen Lan Sheng smiled contentedly, his hands slowly encircling her waist from behind. The soft jade and warm fragrance was truly unbearable for Fan Xia at this moment, those two arms seemed to become poisonous snakes coiling around her neck, strangling her so she could barely breathe.
Yi Zhi, accustomed to the soft comfortable sofa, was suddenly placed on the hard floor, feeling very uncomfortable.
Shaking its chubby little short tail, it wandered around Fan Xia’s feet, whimpering and looking at her with pitiful puppy eyes.
But Wen Lan Sheng was not softened, lightly pushing Yi Zhi with his toe, his tone somewhat cold: “This dog is as annoying as him, go further away.”
Fan Xia’s heart jolted, not knowing if Rong Xiu had heard.
But whether or not Rong Xiu heard, the rather intelligent Yi Zhi seemed to understand. Sensing Wen Lan Sheng’s dislike, it softly whimpered, circling around the sofa and running far away, looking pitifully wronged like a child seeking its parents after being bullied.
Seeking parents… seeking parents!
Fan Xia’s heart suddenly raced, watching Yi Zhi toddle on its short legs towards the closed wardrobe door in the bedroom. She could no longer consider Wen Lan Sheng, breaking free from his arms and rushing forward to scoop Yi Zhi into her arms.
The little puppy curled up in Fan Xia’s arms full of grievances, barking once at the wardrobe door.
AD 5Yi Zhi had always been well-behaved, never heard barking on its own before.
Fan Xia wished she could cover Yi Zhi’s mouth.
But it was too late, Yi Zhi’s sudden outburst had already alerted Wen Lan Sheng. He slowly walked to the door, looking at Yi Zhi in her arms and asked: “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, the puppy just likes to run around everywhere. I was afraid it would get hair all over the bedroom too and make you unhappy.” Fan Xia held Yi Zhi and also walked to the door, lying without blushing or her heart racing, but inside she was in turmoil.
“I knew you cared about me.” Wen Lan Sheng smiled happily, cupping Fan Xia’s face and kissing her.
But Fan Xia was tormented inside, not daring to look directly at him, her gaze constantly darting towards the wardrobe.
The hotel wardrobe had a section designed like venetian blinds. Through these gaps, she seemed able to see Rong Xiu’s jade-like snow-white skin among the hanging clothes, and those cold lonely eyes, gazing at her kissing Wen Lan Sheng.
Those extremely beautiful narrow eyes flashed with a hint of heavy pain, his hand gripping the clothes rod so tightly his veins bulged, gnawing at his bone marrow and flesh like a persistent parasite, tormented and suffering.
Yi Zhi in her arms also stared with innocent puppy eyes, looking bewildered at Rong Xiu in the wardrobe, seeming not to understand why its owner was hiding in such a dark place.
Fan Xia’s eyes stung as if pricked, and as the kiss ended, she pulled Wen Lan Sheng’s hand: “Alright, let’s go out and dry my hair.”
Wen Lan Sheng smiled and said: “Okay.”
Fan Xia gave the wardrobe a deep look, about to step out of the bedroom holding Yi Zhi, when Wen Lan Sheng suddenly turned and said: “For drying hair, you don’t need to hold this dog.”
But Fan Xia didn’t dare. She was afraid that as soon as she let go of Yi Zhi, it would run back into the bedroom, thus exposing Rong Xiu’s location and further damaging his pride.
“The puppy can’t sit still, it’s playful. If I hold it, at least it won’t run around everywhere.” Fan Xia said.
“You, do you like puppies that much?” Wen Lan Sheng shook his head helplessly: “Although I don’t like puppies, since Xia Xia likes them, after we get married, let’s raise a puppy together.”
Wen Lan Sheng’s tone was soft as he compromised. His casual flat shoes stepped on the soft gray-white carpet. The carpet was thick, making almost no sound when stepped on, like swaying sea anemones hiding various small fish and shrimp, as well as the frameless glasses Rong Xiu had carelessly dropped.
Because the temple of the glasses was silver-edged, it was almost unnoticeable on the carpet, but now it lay quietly by Wen Lan Sheng’s foot, nearly touching his heel. If Wen Lan Sheng moved his foot slightly, he would step on the frameless glasses, easily crushing them under his foot.
Fan Xia’s heart was nearly in her throat, not daring to breathe.
She pulled Wen Lan Sheng into her arms, and they both heavily bumped into the bedroom door, but Fan Xia thoughtfully used one hand to protect Wen Lan Sheng.
Wen Lan Sheng couldn’t help but blush, mumbling softly: “What are you doing?”
Fan Xia freed one hand, brushing the stray hair by his ear, her gentle fingers teasing his ear like feathers: “Lan Sheng, thank you, I never thought you’d agree to let me keep a dog one day.”
Wen Lan Sheng bit his lip, face too red to look at her: “I can’t let you keep holding someone else’s puppy forever. No matter how nice something from someone else’s home is, it still belongs to others, don’t you agree?”
An unintentional sentence, carrying mocking undertones, dispersed in the air, carving into Rong Xiu’s ears.
Hidden in the unseen darkness, listening to Wen Lan Sheng’s coquettish soft tone in Fan Xia’s arms, his nails dug deeply into the wardrobe’s inner wall, fingertips oozing bright red blood like poison, meandering pathologically down to his wrist.
Fan Xia nodded: “Yes.”
Wen Lan Sheng smiled with satisfaction, suddenly snatching Yi Zhi from her arms and tossing it onto the sofa. Then before Yi Zhi could react, he tightly closed the bedroom door, leaving it outside.
“Lan Sheng, you-” Fan Xia was shocked, not just because he suddenly shut Yi Zhi out of the bedroom, but more importantly because he had already started undressing.
Fan Xia’s blood rushed up instantly. Heaven knows, at this moment, in this small room, it was not their private world for two – Rong Xiu was still in the wardrobe corner.
“Xia Xia, I miss you.” Wen Lan Sheng hooked her soft long hair, his brows rippling with allure.
Fan Xia stepped back, but was gently pushed by Wen Lan Sheng, falling seated on the big bed. The wardrobe’s position was directly facing the bed, and Fan Xia’s body had already stiffened, not knowing what to do.
AD 6“Lan Sheng, we still need to go eat at the food stalls later, let’s talk about this when we get back.” Fan Xia started making excuses to extricate herself.
But Wen Lan Sheng lazily sat on her lap, his hand lingering on her neck: “Didn’t you say Rong Xiu went out on business earlier? There’s still time.”
Fan Xia grabbed Wen Lan Sheng’s hand: “He left a while ago, he might be back any moment now.”
“That’s hard to say.” Wen Lan Sheng hooked Fan Xia’s neck, unhurriedly taking out his phone to find Rong Xiu’s WeChat video call: “I’ll call Rong Xiu to confirm and then we’ll know.”
Fan Xia’s heart pounded wildly as she snatched his phone: “Forget it, he might still be busy now, you calling him might… might… disturb him.”
“Then that settles it, Rong Xiu must be busy, we have plenty of time.” Wen Lan Sheng’s eyes held a hint of mischievous smile, his fingers lightly hooking her collar, his hot breath spraying on her ear, extremely ambiguous.
Fan Xia pursed her lips, thinking of reasons to refuse him.
No joke, she didn’t want to perform a live spring play in front of Rong Xiu.
Just as she was wracking her brains for an excuse to refuse, Wen Lan Sheng had already left her lap.
“Xia Xia, I brought some very interesting clothes this time.” His voice was hoarse and alluring, his hand on the wardrobe handle, eyes reflecting warm amorous light as he prepared to open the wardrobe.!
If you’re like me…
Too tired of reading stories where the female lead is often foolish, weak, feeble both physically and mentally, usually in a subservient and oppressed role in society such as a maid, secretary, concubine… or to put it bluntly, typically the one who has to serve and please the male lead, always needing protection and rescue from male leads, while the male lead is often described as talented, strikingly handsome, powerful,…
Then please continue reading.
Hi there, girls!
I’m Yuushi L.
Every day, movies and comics continuously reinforce the notion that women are weak, that they can only handle trivial matters in the background, that women are petty-minded and constantly jealous, mocking, and laughing at other women, while men are strong, wealthy, and solely focused on conquering the world, with countless mindless women ready to fall into their arms.
Believe me, once you read Female-dominant (FEDO) novels, your mindset will change significantly.
I am deeply inspired by strong, independent, and rational women who have the power to take control of their lives, and I am fascinated by the way society’s gender roles are reversed in this genre compared to real life.
So I have created this web with the noble purpose of promoting the “Female-dominant (FEDO)” genre of novels.
In my country, there was a rare renowned female poet in ancient times who wrote the following about the fate of women in that era:
“Damn this life of sharing a husband,
One wrapped in warmth, the other left cold.
I’d rather have stayed single from the start,
Than to endure a life so torn apart.”
Perhaps my penchant for reading female-dominant stories is partly a way of rebelling against the realities of life.
On my site, there will be stories that are not only female-dominant novels, as long as they align with my taste, featuring strong female protagonists and fresh, captivating storylines. Usually, they will be modern or fantasy novels.
I rarely read ancient novels that aren’t female-dominant because they often contain details that easily trigger me. These include the portrayal of men having multiple wives and concubines, which was considered utterly normal in ancient society, and the frequent disdain towards women.
I cannot change the world, as the societal structure that discriminates against women and elevates men has existed for thousands of years. Changing it to truly give women an equal role in society is not something that can happen overnight. If you want gender equality now, it’s laughable. It will never happen when over 90% of national and business leaders are men.
But I can start by changing the mindset of women, sisters, and young girls. Don’t just read dull slogans urging women to be strong and independent; it’s hard to imagine. Read Female-dominant (FEDO) novels to see clearly what true female empowerment looks like.
I believe there will be more and more independent and strong women who prioritize their careers and personal stability over seeking a man to rely on.
In the future, there will be more successful female entrepreneurs, politicians, and thought leaders.
As for me, I will start by making this website grow stronger day by day.
I especially like the concept of “the male lead falls in love first, the female lead is the cold-hearted and rational one, and the male lead suffers because the female lead doesn’t reciprocate his feelings.”
Therefore, you’ll see that most of the novels on my website will belong to this trope. Of course, there will be exceptions.
In the future, I also plan to write my own novels following this concept, where the female lead in my stories will never be the weaker party. I hope I can do it soon.
The novels I highly recommend will be listed under the category:
There will be exceptionally brilliant stories, but there will also be mediocre ones. As the Female-dominant (FEDO) genre has fewer authors and readers, the number of high-quality novels is limited.
Therefore, I want to promote this genre to reach a wider audience, which will encourage more talented authors to choose to write in this style, leading to the birth of more outstanding Female-dominant (FEDO) novels.
The Chinese versions of the novels I use for translation are all sourced from various websites on the internet. You know, I don’t have much budget to purchase so many novels.
Therefore, if your financial situation allows, please support the authors by purchasing the original works. You can find the original works using the Chinese titles of the novels.

WARNING:
In some novels, there are certain unhealthy ideologies and illegal actions held by the main characters (for example, treating human lives as worthless, or casually deciding to kill someone, forcing others to do things they don’t want to do, arbitrarily imprisoning others, plotting to harm others, using violence to retaliate against violence,…).
This may be because the authors are still young and inexperienced, unaware that what they’re writing goes beyond moral standards and can negatively influence young readers.
It’s important that readers under 18 years old need to recognize these are illegal actions, not permitted to be carried out in real life, always keep a clear head while reading, treat these works only as entertainment, and don’t let yourself be influenced by those plot points.
